One of the delights of great lighting design is the opportunity to create forms of deceptive simplicity which are nonetheless packed with beautifully judged and intensely intricate features. The Lucia flush mount light could not be more traditional in its drum-shaped form, but the surprises are in the detail. An outer frame of burnished silver metal carries an elegant alternating hour-glass pattern, with each bulb inlaid with a dazzling crystal modelled on the sunflower shape of the tropical bauhinia flower. Inside this sparkling ring is a pale linen shade and glass diffuser which emits a warm glow through the crystal-work to stunning effect.
